Caring for the county
Better Broadband for Norfolk
We’re on course to increase superfast broadband access in Norfolk to 95% by April 2020.
We’re working with the big four mobile providers to improve the county’s mobile coverage – with a target of 98%.
Third River Crossing
The Government has committed £98m to create a third river crossing in Great Yarmouth. We hope to start construction by the end of 2020.
Recruiting for reablement
In November we recruited around 80 new care workers countywide, including posts to provide a ‘wrap around’ service to support people leaving hospital and help them get back home.
Scottow Enterprise Park
The former RAF Coltishall site is a real success story – we now have 92% tenancy occupancy.
Investing in children and families
We’re investing £12m over the next four years to help support children to live safely at home.
Tackling domestic abuse
925 ‘champions’ – people in professions who deal with the public – have been taught how to spot signs of abuse and offer support.
Fire and Rescue
In 2017-18, our Fire and Rescue Service attended 7,398 incidents and rescued over 700 people.
